Friday 5th April Katwijk to Woerden. 50 miles

I am following the heart of the Netherlands cycle path from the Atlantic coast to the German border. Excellent paths and a great well sign posted route. BUT there are a lot of other great cycle routes as well, and they are also way marked. Thus my path sign might be hidden in the undergrowth under 6 others, or on the other side of the road, or high up in the air. So today's ride (into the wind), has actually been quite stressful, if I let my guard down there I am 2 miles in the wrong direction!
Lots of water, canals, lakes and ponds. I am not far from Gouda and have passed specialist shops full of cheese rounds. It is great to pass schools and see the children cycling to them.
Camping at a lovely town called Woerden which is ringed by canals and has a castle in the middle. Actually all the places I have been through have seemed nice, but then meandering cycle routes like this one have been taking me through scenic areas. A lot of  water birds, I was surprised to see people digging their allotments, as the geese were waiting to see what thay could eat.
Last night there was a beautiful sunset, sun again today.
