Thursday May 2nd 74 miles to Komarno
A beautiful day, cycling down the Vah river. Sometimes on cycle paths, sometimes on cycle paths which end abruptly and you have to manoeuvre a bike over rough ground to meet a road. A big hill to avoid some meanders in the river, and along artificial lakes made to power hydro on the river.
I met a cyclist on route who took me home to meet his family and I was given lunch.
Now I have reached Komarno where the Vah flows into the Danube, and have actually found an open campsite.A lot of camper around.
Tomorrow I cross the bridge into Hungary. I have liked Slovakia (route takes me back in) BUT their driving is terrible. Cars never ever stop at a pedestrian crossing, if the road is straight, they race. If they want to come out of a junction or a driveway they will pull out right in front of you. I have passed a lot of roadkill hedgehogs.
